The time allowed for the driver to pay for parking after the start of parking should be increased from the current five minutes to two hours. This proposal was made by Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, TASS reported on June 30.

As the Deputy Secretary of the OP noted, five minutes may not be enough for drivers to pay due to Internet failures. According to him, increasing the time limit is a simple technological solution.

In Moscow, parking must be paid for within five minutes, the same amount of time is given to leave the occupied place after the end of the parking session. Otherwise, if the motorist exceeds the deadline, he faces a fine.

On May 28, the Russian Ministry of Transport developed a draft federal law that stipulates that motorists will be able to pay for parking within 24 hours from the start of the session. This should reduce the administrative burden on drivers and make the payment process more flexible, according to the agency.

In March, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to work out the proposals of deputies on the legislative consolidation of the mechanism of post-payment for parking.
