Gref called the Unified State Exam a success

The Unified State Exam has "played its part" and children need to be taught in a fundamentally new way. This was announced on June 30 by the head of Sberbank, German Gref, at the annual meeting of shareholders of the credit institution.

"Do children need to be given a huge amount of information, or is it the USE itself. <...> The USE is a very good tool, it played its role, it played its role. But if you, adults in my area of expertise, try to pass the Unified State Exam, I sympathize with you. I often not only don't find the right answer, I don't understand the question," Gref said, as quoted by RBC.

In his opinion, it is logically impossible to find the correct answer in the Unified State Exam, you just need to remember, so after the exam there is a reboot and knowledge is reset. Gref noted that children should be taught to think, make decisions, set goals, and manage emotions — the so-called soft skills that are lacking in Russian schools. He also added that children's creativity in elementary school is high, but it drops sharply by graduation.

The head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev, reported on June 17 that there were no extremely difficult or unsolvable tasks in the control and measuring materials of the Unified State Exam in 2026. In addition, the head of Rosobrnadzor added that, according to statistics, the percentage of solving all the tasks that were in the past exams is normal compared to other years.
