The new Russian brand Jeland explained the meaning of its name

Three words are encrypted in the name of the new Russian automobile brand Jeland. As the brand's press service told Izvestia on June 30, it consists of the words Journey ("journey"), Emotions ("emotions") and Land ("territory").

According to the idea, Journey reflects "movement, path and readiness for new routes," Emotions conveys impressions that "fill trips with personal meaning," and Land symbolizes the territory "which is a source of inner strength, limitless possibilities and amazing discoveries," brand representatives said.

The Jeland model range will consist of crossovers presented in key market segments. Now the former GM plant in Shushary, owned by the Russian holding AGR, is developing J-series crossovers, similar to models of the Chinese brand Jaecoo.

A line of C-series cars, similar to crossovers from another Chinese brand, Omoda, will begin rolling off the assembly line at the Kaluga AGR plant in the fall.

Jeland is one of four joint projects of the Russian holding AGR and the Chinese company Defetoo, in addition to Tenet, Tenet Plus and Esteo.

On June 11, the first model of the new domestic brand Jeland, the J6 crossover, went on sale in Russia. On June 25, production of the Jeland J7 crossover began at the plant in Shushary.
