A criminal case was opened after the death of a child at a reservoir in Primorye.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after the death of a nine-year-old boy at a reservoir in Primorsky Krai. The child was floating on an air mattress.

The incident occurred on June 28 near the village of Yaroslavsky in Khorolsky district. According to the PrimaMedia news agency, the child was swimming using an air mattress, and at some point disappeared from sight. The search continued all night. On June 29, the boy's body was discovered.

The criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").

In the Khabarovsk Territory last week, a boat with a skipper and two passengers capsized on the Maya River. Three people without life jackets ended up in the water, the child drowned.
