The Lada 2105 sports car was put up for sale in Germany

In Germany, the Lada 2105 VFTS sedan, modified in the 1980s, which took part in rally races, was put up for sale. The car was valued at 63 thousand euros, which is about 5.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate. The Carscoops portal drew attention to the announcement of the sale of the sedan on eBay.

It is known that this copy of Lada 2105 (the model is known abroad as Lada Riva) was released in 1981, imported to Austria in 1985 and modified by OAF together with rally specialists and local racer Rudolf Stoll. The sedan was converted into a racing sedan according to the modification program of the VFTS enterprise (Vilnius Vehicle Factory), which was then engaged in the modernization of the Lada for automobile competitions.

The Lada 2105 VFTS is externally distinguished by a sports body kit with a spoiler and additional headlights in the front, as well as plastic in the glazing. A safety frame, racing seats and a steering wheel are installed in the lightweight cabin. The power of the 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine has increased to 130 hp (almost doubled) due to improvements, including two Weber carburettors and the original intake manifold. The engine is powered by a five-speed manual transmission with short gear ratios, and traction is provided through a Torsen differential.

Until 1989, the sedan participated in the national rally championship, after which it was stored in a garage in Austria. The current owner took the car in 2018 and restored it. In 2020, the Five have completed the historic FIA Technical Data Sheet (HTP), a document confirming the compliance of a classic sports car with its original specification. The car is allowed to drive on public roads.

Earlier, on June 25, AvtoVAZ announced the expansion of the Lada Iskra line. The production range of the model includes a station wagon in the new Drive configuration with a 1.6-liter engine (106 hp) and a 6-speed manual transmission. Previously, the Iskra station wagon with a 106-horsepower engine was offered in conjunction only with an automatic transmission.
