Tagansky court of Moscow fined Twitch 3.5 million rubles

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow imposed an administrative fine on Twitch Interactive, Inc. in the amount of 3.5 million rubles. This was reported on June 29 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

The service was found guilty of failing to fulfill its obligations to monitor the social network and take measures to restrict access to information in accordance with the requirements of Russian legislation (Part 2 of Article 13.50 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation).

Twitch has previously been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility in Russia for violations of Russian legislation in the field of information technology and Internet platforms. Twitch is one of the world's largest platforms for hosting and watching live broadcasts, and the most popular among fans of video games and esports.

Roskomnadzor informed Izvestia on June 23 that it has no plans to restrict access to the Twitch streaming platform.

In April, the service was fined another 3.8 million rubles. It was noted that Twich Interactive, Inc. was found guilty of violating the procedure for restricting access to information, information resources, access to which is subject to restriction in accordance with Russian law (Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation).
