Sales of used electric vehicles in Russia increased by a quarter in May
In May 2026, Russians bought 1,228 used electric vehicles, which is 25% more than in the same month last year. This was reported on June 29 by the analytical agency Autostat.
About a quarter (25.6%) of the used electric car market was made up of Japanese brand Nissan models (314 cars sold). The second place in the brand rating was taken by the Chinese brand Zeekr, which reached 208 units in May. This is followed by Volkswagen (161 units) and American Tesla (115 units), as well as the domestic brand Evolute (61 units).
The Nissan Leaf is still the leader in the model rating, with a result of 280 units at the end of spring. The second position is occupied by the Zeekr 001 (149 units), the third by the Volkswagen Lavida (121 units). The top five also included the Tesla Model 3 (54 units) and the Moskvich 3e (47 units).
In total, from January to May 2026, Russians bought 6 thousand used electric cars, which is 34% more than in January — May 2025.
Earlier, on June 25, it was reported that the Russian Atom electric car had passed certification crash tests at the NAMI State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation. Kama stated that the model is ready for mass production and the start of sales, but did not specify the start date.
