The doctor warned about the consequences of drinking coffee on an empty stomach
Coffee itself is a powerful antioxidant, and the response to it is a sharp release of gastric juice, which leads to heartburn and stomach pain. Alexander Umnov, senior lecturer at the Department of Surgery at the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, told about this on Monday, June 29.
The surgeon added that drinking coffee on an empty stomach can cause gastritis, followed by ulcers and spontaneous bile discharge.
"This bile can block and sharply burn the throat, breathing may become difficult, a person may need medical help, because hardly everyone carries a suspension for oral administration all the time to combat severe heartburn," the doctor said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
When drinking coffee, cortisol levels also increase, which can cause severe anxiety, nervousness, and a person may start yelling at others, yelling at subordinates in the morning after a cup of coffee, Umnov said.
"It is important to remember that strong coffee on an empty stomach can dramatically affect the heart and blood pressure. Perhaps this is not evident in everyone, but in general it is unsafe in this sense, especially in hot summer, when a person's pulse rate increases during thermoregulation in the heat," the doctor warned, adding that it is better to drink coffee with something and then drink water.
Earlier, on June 17, Daria Rusakova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, nutritionist, warned that coffee from office coffee machines can be dangerous to health, writes Life.Ru .
Earlier, on June 3, Izvestia wrote that coffee and grapefruit are often referred to as a combination that helps keep you awake longer. It is believed that the substances contained in citrus can slow down the breakdown of caffeine in the body.
