Iran announced the unfreezing of assets in Qatar for $ 6 billion

"President Masoud Peseshkian announced that, in accordance with the recently reached agreements, $6 billion of the country's assets stored in Qatar will be unfrozen and returned to Iran," the material says.

The amount will amount to half of the $12 billion of frozen Iranian assets stored in Qatar, the Iranian president said. He added that work on unblocking the remaining funds is continuing.

The Wall Street Journal reported on June 20 that the United States and Qatar are working on a mechanism that would allow Iran to use part of its frozen assets to purchase humanitarian goods. It is assumed that, at the request of the Central Bank of Iran, the Doha authorities will allow the payment of food, medicines and other humanitarian goods from these funds.
