Soyuz MS-29 crews went to Baikonur to prepare for the flight to the ISS

The main and backup crews of the Soyuz MS-29 manned spacecraft of the ISS-75 expedition went to the Baikonur cosmodrome, where the final stage of preparations for launch to the International Space Station will take place. This was announced on June 29 at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, part of Roscosmos.

The main crew of ISS-75 included Roscosmos cosmonauts Peter Dubrov and Anna Kikina, as well as NASA astronaut Anil Menon. The backup crew consisted of Roscosmos cosmonauts Dmitry Petelin and Konstantin Borisov, as well as NASA astronaut Denise Burnham.

"Every flight is unique. Ours also has quite interesting tasks in its plans. Of course, this is maintaining the station's operability. After all, it has been flying for a very long time," said test cosmonaut Peter Dubrov.

According to him, during the upcoming expedition, the crew will have to perform a large number of scientific experiments. In particular, astronauts will study the effects of weightlessness on the human body, as well as conduct research on the production of new materials, including crystals and alloys, in space flight.

The launch of the Soyuz MS-29 manned spacecraft to the International Space Station is scheduled for July 14.

On June 18, the crews of the Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft began their exams before flying to the ISS. It was reported that the specialists had already passed separate exams on the manual approach of the ship to the station, on berthing and docking from one module to another, on remote control of the Progress MS cargo ship in manual mode and on manual controlled descent to Earth.

On June 10, Roscosmos announced that the ISS orbit had been raised by 1.6 km and now stands 419 km above the Earth's surface. The main goal of the initiative was to create conditions for the safe arrival of the Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft and the landing of the Soyuz MS-28. It was noted that the correction was carried out using the engines of the Progress MS-34 cargo ship.
