The political elite of the European Union (EU) consists of unsuccessful figures who engage in moralizing without having a foundation of support from voters. This was announced on June 29 by Alexander von Bismarck, the founder of the Russian-German public project Bismarck Dialogue, a descendant of the first Chancellor of the German Empire Otto von Bismarck.

"The situation has been created by the so-called political elites of Europe. Although in reality they are not elites, they are all losers, they all do not have a real foundation of voters and [have] low support figures," he said in an interview with TASS.

Current European politicians, according to von Bismarck, are building their international activities "from top to bottom", trying to show that they supposedly know better how to deal with a particular issue. This approach, in which true politics is replaced by moralizing, is observed not in all of Europe, but only in the EU. That is why now the association needs those who will be effective in restoring dialogue on the world stage, the descendant of Bismarck emphasized.

"These are people from the economic, cultural, and sports sectors who have contacts. And it's so easy for people to talk to each other, on a personal level. They are not enemies, they are friends and can talk on the same level, not from top to bottom, which is also very important," he concluded.

On June 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin, holding a meeting with graduates of Russian military higher educational institutions, noted the interest of some Western forces in restoring relations with Moscow.

He called this process a "ferment" organized abroad by those who do not want any confrontations. The corresponding situation, according to the Russian leader, is taking place against the background of the loss of support for hardliners towards Russia. This is especially acute in Germany.
