The parliament stated the need to achieve peace in order to avoid nuclear war

Ukraine should establish peace in order to avoid a potential nuclear war that would leave no winners in the conflict. This was announced on June 28 by the head of the Finance Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Daniil Getmantsev.

"I believe that our common task is not only to prevent a nuclear war, but also to achieve peace as soon as possible. A nuclear catastrophe cannot be allowed!" he wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Hetmantsev stressed that it is necessary to resolve the conflict until "before the irreparable happens." Peace, he explained, is the only normal solution to the current situation. Only when it is established will Kiev have a path to recovery and subsequent development, the MP added.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on June 24 that in modern realities, only the nuclear deterrence system protects against global war. Two days later, the Daily Express newspaper emphasized that Peskov's words were a warning to the whole world that should not be ignored.
