- The expert pointed out the intention of Western countries to create threats to Russia and Belarus.
Western countries intend to continue to create security threats, primarily in the Kaliningrad region and Belarus. This was stated on June 28 by political commentator Joaquin Flores in an article for Strategic Culture.
"Western planners will again secretly create acute threats to the security of Russia, most likely Kaliningrad, and Belarus, in order to provoke a mandatory defensive response," he said.
The author of the article emphasizes that, despite aggressive rhetoric and accelerated militarization, the European Union is unlikely to be ready for a direct large-scale confrontation with Moscow. In these circumstances, according to Flores, the West will seek escalation, relying on systematic provocations near the Russian borders.
"If the current trajectory continues, can anyone seriously expect that Russia's goals will be achieved anywhere other than on the battlefield, without a single pause in the fighting? Thanks to the strange belligerence of (Ukrainian President Vladimir Putin. According to Zelensky, Russia has everything it needs from an ethical point of view to move forward," the observer concluded.
Alexander Trofimov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said on June 27 that the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) continue to increase military activity in the Arctic, which indicates the militarization of the region. According to the diplomat, NATO's actions are part of the general policy of Western states aimed at strengthening their presence in various regions of Eurasia. Trofimov noted that the countries of the European Union, according to the Russian side, contribute to the destabilization of the situation in Central, Southern, Northeastern and Southeastern Eurasia.
