The State Duma recalled the increase in pensions in July for one category of citizens

Russian pensioners who celebrated their 80th anniversary in June will start receiving a fixed payment of double their old-age pension starting in July. Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, recalled this on June 27.

"Citizens who turn 80 in June will have the right to receive proactively, undeclarably doubled fixed payments to an old—age insurance pension," she told RIA Novosti.

The parliamentarian clarified that for this category of citizens, the amount of payment will double in July this year. Today, the size of this fixed portion is 9 584.69 rubles, and after doubling it will increase to 19 169.38 rubles.

Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, said a day earlier that in August of this year, the monthly payments due to some categories of pensioners will be recalculated and increased. The recalculation, as the expert explained, will not affect informally employed pensioners due to the fact that they did not have time to form individual pension coefficients. He clarified that the potential increase will be individual for each citizen.
