Western countries assume that they can ignore Moscow's "red lines" with impunity, but this belief is an illusion. This was stated on June 26 by John Mearsheimer, a professor at the University of Chicago, in an interview with analyst Daniel Davis.

"They (Russia. — Ed.) draw a red line, make it clear that enough is enough... we (the West. — Ed.) we believe that there is no red line," RIA Novosti quoted Mearsheimer as saying.
