Sergunina spoke about the agreement between Moscow and Shenzhen on the development of the tourism industry

Representatives of Moscow and Shenzhen, one of the largest cities and technological centers in China, have agreed to cooperate in the field of tourism, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

The ceremony was held as part of the visit of the Chinese delegation to the Russian capital.

"The signed document is part of a consistent effort to develop Moscow's tourism potential and strengthen partnership relations with the People's Republic of China. The agreement will increase the mutual flow of tourists and create new offers for travelers," Sergunina said.

The memorandum provides for the expansion of contacts between the specialists of the hospitality industry of the two cities, the holding of joint exhibitions, forums and business missions, the exchange of best practices and the promotion of projects using digital services.

In the first quarter of 2026, almost 6 million tourists visited the capital. Over 550,000 of them came from abroad— which is 5% more than in the same period last year. The number of travelers from non-CIS countries increased by 12 percent.

Approximately half of the tourist flow from non-CIS countries accounted for Chinese citizens. This is followed by India and Turkey.
