The shortage of personnel is the main problem of transport in the regions of Russia. This was announced on June 26 by Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Alexey Dyumin at an expanded meeting of the State Council commission on the Efficient Transport System.

According to him, a lot of work is underway in the Russian regions to upgrade rolling stock, but this is not enough.

"The quality of service is not only about new buses, trams and trolleybuses, the most important criterion is the reduction of waiting time for transport. One of the reasons is the lack of drivers. One of the key tasks is to solve the personnel problem in this area," Dyumin said.

He also noted that in many regions there are already successful practices in the development of transport, which need to be disseminated in those regions where work requires additional adjustment.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on March 4 that work on updating public transport in the regions continues. In turn, Anton Alikhanov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said that the capacities of eight Russian manufacturers make it possible to produce up to 45 thousand of all types of buses annually.
