Russia and Algeria sign documents on cooperation in the oil and gas sector
Russia considers Algeria as a key partner on the African continent. In 2025 alone, the volume of mutual trade increased by one and a half times, and the positive trend continues even now. This was announced on June 26 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
"I am convinced that the existing cooperation meets the long-term interests of the peoples of both states. And, of course, personal contacts between the leaders of our countries contribute to strengthening a trusting dialogue. I would like to note that Algeria is one of Russia's key partners in North Africa," he said.
Following the meeting, several documents were signed, including on cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
On the same day, Dmitry Yadrov, Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, and Toufik Djouama, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Algeria to Russia, discussed the resumption of flights between the two countries. According to the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, the countries are linked by long-term cooperation in the field of air transportation.
