Roads to Lakes Baikal and Gusinoe will be repaired this year in Buryatia

In the Republic of Buryatia, it is planned to commission sections of roads leading to Lakes Baikal and Gusinoe in 2026 after repairs. This is reported by the republican Ministry for the Development of Transport, Energy and Road Facilities.

We are talking about the Treskovo–Shergino–Oymur–Zarechye highway, which provides access to Lake Baikal, and the Gusinoozersk– Petropavlovsk–Zakamensk – border with Mongolia road leading to Lake Gusinoe. At the first stage, work is underway on the section from the 4th to the 14th km, at the second - from the 30th to the 45th km.

Repairs began on the Baikal highway last year. Asphalt paving works will start in mid-July. In general, the project provides for widening the roadway to 10 m, smoothing sharp turns, and arranging parking, sidewalks, and lighting near the village of Fofonovo.

According to UlanMedia, the work on the road to Gusinoe Lake is reaching the finish line. In addition to repairing the roadbed itself, the bridge over the Temnik River and the overpass will be put in order, as well as four public transport stops.

Road repairs are carried out within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life".
