President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is on a working visit to Russia for an upcoming meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This was reported on June 26 by the Telegram channel "Pool One".

"Alexander Lukashenko has gone on a periodic visit to the Russian Federation," the message says.

It is noted that the leaders plan to discuss issues on the agenda of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation, as well as relations between the countries and in the world.

On the same day, Putin noted that the Union State of Russia and Belarus is a model of mutually beneficial integration and has a truly strategic character. He noted that in practice it contributes to the deepening of cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

The day before, Lukashenko also said that Minsk's position is peaceful, but he will be close to Moscow under any circumstances.
