The soloist of the band Masha and the Bears won a court case over the song "Earth" in the show "The Voice"

Maria Makarova, the lead singer of the Masha and the Bears group, won a court case against Channel One for using the song "Earth" from the movie "Brother-2" in the TV show "The Voice" without consent and received compensation in the amount of 300 thousand rubles. This became known on June 26 from the text of the court decision.

"The court decided to partially satisfy the claims. To collect from JSC "Channel One" monetary compensation for violation of exclusive rights in the amount of 300 thousand rubles. To refuse to satisfy the rest of the stated requirements," TASS quoted an excerpt from the document.

In the statement of claim, Makarova drew attention to the fact that the song "Earth" is played in the film "Brother-2", which holds the lead in the ratings of the best Russian cinema of the 21st century. Makarova is convinced that the TV channel took advantage of the famous hit to increase the coverage of the program and monetize the project at the expense of advertisers.
