Global prices for benchmark grades of Brent and WTI oil show a drop of more than 2% following the results of trading, heading for a weekly decline of almost 8% amid easing concerns about the supply of raw materials after the stranded tankers leave the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 26.

"Brent crude futures fell by $1.50 (1.99%) to $73.76 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell by $1.49 (2.07%) to $70.43 per barrel," the material says.

According to the newspaper, the total volume of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz this week reached its highest levels since the beginning of the conflict between the United States and Israel with Iran in February, which was facilitated by the ceasefire agreement. However, according to ING analysts, the increase in traffic is largely due to the departure of previously blocked vessels.

"Ship flows to the Persian Gulf remain much more modest. This suggests that after the stuck tankers leave the water area, we may see a rollback in volumes," experts warn.

On June 25, a cargo ship was shelled off the coast of Oman. The ship was hit from the starboard side by an unknown projectile, which caused damage to the bridge. It was clarified that there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

On the same day, it was also reported that oil prices had fallen to their lowest levels since February 27 amid rising supplies from the Middle East after the resumption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
