The limit on moose production will be increased in the Murmansk region

In the Murmansk region, it was proposed to set a limit on moose production at the level of 778 animals. The corresponding draft resolution was prepared by the regional government.

The document says that the number of moose in the region is estimated at 11,614 individuals. The total quota for shooting will be 6.7% of the population. Of these, 607 are moose over one year old, and 171 are young.

According to the Bi-port news agency, compared with last season, the production limit is planned to be increased by 33 individuals.

Quotas will be distributed between the fixed and publicly accessible hunting grounds of the region. If adopted, the resolution will enter into force on August 1, 2026 and will be valid for exactly one year — until August 1, 2027.
