In the case of Ukrainians who transported gold bars through Hungary in a collection vehicle, the role of the country's former head of government, Viktor Orban, should be established. This was announced on June 25 by the current Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar on the Facebook social network (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Earlier, a document allegedly circulated in the Hungarian media by the Prosecutor General's office, in which Orban is listed as one of the figures whose responsibility in this case should be clarified.

"In connection with the leaked document, we expect an immediate response from the prosecutor's office as to whether Viktor Orban and [the former head of Hungary's anti-terrorism center] Janos Hajdu has been questioned as a suspect in the case of the golden convoy," the politician said.
