Alexander Mirzoyan was elected First Vice-President of the RFU

Alexander Mirzoyan has been elected First Vice-President of the Russian Football Union (RFU). The RFU press service announced this on Thursday, June 25.

"The RFU Executive Committee elected Alexander Bagratovich Mirzoyan as the first vice-president of the RFU and decided to include him in the bureau of the organization's executive committee," the Moscow City News agency quoted the message.

The RFU Executive Committee also decided to delegate the rights to the National Football League to hold the All-Russian football competitions among the men's teams of the first and second league clubs "Division A" until the 2029-2030 season inclusive.

Alexander Mirzoyan is a Soviet football player who played for Spartak Moscow, Neft Baku and Ararat from Yerevan.

Earlier, on June 17, the RFU amended the rules of the Russian Cup in the 2026/27 season. According to the updated rules, the names of the playoff stages have been changed.
