Allergist Lyudmila Makhovaya on Thursday, June 25, told how to prevent summer allergies.

In conversation with aif.ru The specialist noted that two types of allergic reactions are most common. According to her, pollinosis and photodermatitis are most often aggravated.

According to the specialist, seasonal rhinoconjunctivitis develops during the flowering period of meadow and weeds, and photodermatitis occurs due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation and is manifested by redness, itching and rashes on exposed skin areas. In such cases, it is recommended to limit exposure to the sun during its peak hours, wear closed clothing, and use high-SPF sunscreens.

The expert noted that therapy chosen in advance by a doctor and travel planning based on the flowering calendar help to reduce the risk of exacerbation. At the same time, allergen-specific immunotherapy remains the most effective treatment method, which must be started several months before the flowering season.

In addition, the Flywheel reminded of cross-allergy. So, when reacting to pollen from weeds, it is worth using watermelon, melon, cucumbers and tomatoes with caution, and if allergic to birch pollen, raw apples, apricots, cherries and other stone fruits.

She also advised against abusing foods with a high histamine content, such as strawberries, strawberries, papaya, pineapple and citrus fruits, as they can provoke severe skin and gastrointestinal reactions.

The day before, allergist Nina Saygutina told us how to prepare for the allergy season. According to her, allergy treatment is not a one—time action, it is carried out for 3-5 years, but two to three months before the beginning of flowering. Doctors urge parents not to postpone a visit to the pediatrician at the first suspicion of hay fever, notes 360.ru .

Earlier, gastroenterologist, PhD Evgeny Belousov, in an interview with RIAMO, said that you should not order sushi in the heat if you have doubts about the quality of delivery or if the dish has been traveling for a long time without cooling. Caution is also needed for those who are allergic to fish, seafood, sesame, soy or algae.

In May, allergist and immunologist Nadezhda Logina warned that mosquito bites can cause not only discomfort, but also allergic reactions - thickening and redness of the skin that persist for a long time. When such symptoms appear, Logina advised to consult an allergist, writes NSN.

Also in May, nutritionist Natalia Pavlyuk warned about the consequences of excessive consumption of strawberries. According to her, people with allergies, individual intolerance or cross-allergic reactions should be more careful with berries.
