The commander of the AFU regiment "Skala" was temporarily suspended to verify the facts of violence

The commander of the Skala assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Garkavy, was temporarily suspended from his post during inspections that began after reports of abuse of authority and possible violence in the unit. This was reported on June 25 by the Ukrainian newspaper Babel, citing sources in the Ukrainian General Staff.

"Commander of the 425th OSP (separate assault regiment. "Skala" Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Garkavy was relieved of his duties yesterday for the duration of the inspection," the Telegram channel said in a statement.

Currently, the entire investigation is being handled by employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine. A comprehensive commission has already begun work in the regiment itself, created on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky.

The start of the pre-trial inspection in Skala became known the day before. The corresponding decision was made in the GBR after one of the recruits mobilized there was found to have injuries, including fractured ribs. At the same time, a former member of this regiment, Andrei Fibulevsky, who is now in Russian captivity, confirmed that soldiers were indeed being beaten in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, senior officers are sending disabled people and those who are ill to storm.
