There is currently no information about injured or dead Russian citizens as a result of the devastating earthquake in Venezuela. This was announced on June 25 at the Russian Embassy in Caracas.
"At the moment, there is no information about injured or dead citizens of the Russian Federation," the Telegram channel says.
The diplomatic mission clarified that there were also no complaints from Russian citizens in connection with the consequences of the natural disaster. The Embassy continues to closely monitor the situation in the republic.
The earthquake in Venezuela occurred on June 24. The epicenter was located 60 km northwest of the city of Valencia, as well as 28 km northeast of San Felipe. The magnitude of the natural disaster was estimated at 7.5. The earthquake was the strongest in the country since 1900.
According to the latest data, at least 164 people were killed and more than 900 injured as a result of the earthquake. The state of La Guaira became the most affected by the earthquake.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that the Russian side is currently exploring the possibility of providing humanitarian assistance to Venezuela. According to her, Russian diplomats are in constant contact with the authorities and emergency services of the republic.
