Artyom Koryakin, an orthopedic dentist, surgeon, implantologist, and founder of the Dr. Koryakin Clinic, spoke on Thursday, June 25, about the dangerous consequences of the habit of enduring toothache.

The doctor explained that if the tooth already hurts, and not just reacts to cold or sweet, then it can be deep caries, inflammation of the nerve or tissues around the root.

"Patients often think that they can wait if they feel better after taking the pill. But the painkiller does not cure the tooth, it only relieves the symptoms for a few hours, and the inflammation continues to develop at this time," the specialist warned in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

At an early stage, a person may notice only a reaction to stimuli — hot and cold food, sour and sweet foods, and then the pain appears for no reason, it can radiate to the temple, ear, neighboring teeth or jaw. If you continue to suppress it with pills, the inflammation can spread to the tissues around the root, and then there is a high probability of developing a cyst, flux, and even an abscess, the dentist emphasized.

"A bad scenario develops when the infection goes into the soft tissues of the face and jaw. Then we can talk about surgical opening of the abscess, antibiotics and hospitalization," said Koryakin.

He added that the habit of enduring pain often ends with tooth loss. Where caries treatment could be dispensed with at first, canal treatment, crown placement, tooth extraction, and then implantation or prosthetics may be necessary later, Koryakin concluded.

On the same day, Nazir Magomedov, a dentist at SM-Dentistry, told Izvestia that ice cream in the heat can put a strain on tooth enamel and cause short-term pain in people with hypersensitivity of teeth.

In turn, the dentist-therapist of "SM-Dentistry" Madina Apanasova told Life.Ru what things should you take with you on vacation to avoid dental problems. It is worth stocking up on antiseptic mouthwash or solution, as well as dental floss, clarifies 360.ru .
