The number of accident-free drivers has increased in Russia
The share of Russian drivers who have the maximum discount for accident-free driving under CTP for the shifted calendar year increased from 37.3% to 42.9%. This was announced on June 25 by the press service of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA).
According to data for the period from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, the largest share of car owners with the maximum discount for accident-free driving under CTP was recorded in Moscow, where 52.8% have the minimum value of the bonus-malus coefficient (KBM).
St. Petersburg is in second place (51.3%), followed by Perm Krai (49.9%), Moscow Region (49.6%) and Ryazan Region (49.5%). In all these regions, the share increased over the shifted calendar year. The smallest share of drivers with such a discount was recorded in the republics of Dagestan (10.8%), Ingushetia (14.8%), Tuva (17.6%) and Chechnya (18.8%).
The maximum discount for accident-free driving is given to those who have not caused an accident for 10 years. The annual recalculation of the MSC is carried out on April 1 and is valid throughout the year.
On the eve of the State Duma's plenary session on June 24, it rejected a bill that proposed to increase from 200,000 to 300,000 rubles the amount of insurance compensation for CTP in the event of an accident under the European protocol (without police officers), without recording and transmitting data about such an incident to the automated compulsory insurance information system.
