The RFU supported FIFA's decision to allow the Russian national team under 15 to compete

The Russian Football Union (RFU) regards the decision of the International Football Federation (FIFA) to admit the Russian national under-15 team as an important step towards returning to tournaments. This was announced on June 25 by RFU President Alexander Dyukov.

According to him, a response has been received from FIFA with a preliminary application form for participation in the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival, the tournament will be held from October 22 to 31 in Azerbaijan. Dyukov added that the Russian side intends to confirm participation in the near future.

"We regard this decision by FIFA as an important step towards the full return of all Russian national teams to international competitions at all levels," he is quoted as saying on the RFU Telegram channel.

"The stage of return may be playing on neutral fields, but we want to play matches at home."

On June 15, RFU Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov announced that FIFA would invite the Russian national team to a new under-15 youth tournament to be held in the United States. The tournament is expected to take place in September this year.
