Beglov and Falkov signed an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation

Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, and Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of science, higher education, and scientific and technological development.

According to the press service of the mayor, the document establishes St. Petersburg's participation in the federal pilot project, which allows regions to independently propose research topics, taking into account socio-economic needs and industry specialization.

According to Beglov, the new agreement will make it possible to more accurately direct the scientific potential of the city to the development of the economy, new technologies and the social sphere. Falkov noted that the experience of St. Petersburg will be replicated in other regions of Russia.

The signing took place in St. Petersburg.‑St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" named after V. I. Ulyanov (Lenin). A solemn meeting of the Academic Council was held there, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the founding of the university. The event was also attended by the rector of LETI Viktor Sheludko, Chairman of the Board of Rectors Alexey Demidov, representatives of universities and enterprises of the city.

At the meeting, Beglov congratulated the LETI staff and students on their anniversary, and also presented state and city awards. Before the event, the Minister and the governor were presented with developments by students and scientists of the university, including the portable Pardus-R X-ray diagnostic system, the Regenesis transplant preservation system, ceramic antennas for GLONASS and equipment for creating domestic integrated circuits.

"Together with teachers, students create the latest developments that are widely in demand in industry, medicine, and help save the lives of fighters in the free defense zone. This means that the university is fulfilling the program and the instructions given by the president. Our science is moving forward. The university provides academic and practical knowledge that make our country strong and independent," Beglov said.
