Three tourists stole a live sturgeon from a fishery located on the shore of the Krasnoyarsk reservoir. The suspects were detained, the press service of the regional department of the Interior Ministry reported on Thursday, June 25.

Employees of the company contacted the police. They reported that at night, a female Siberian sturgeon of the Yenisei population weighing more than 12 kg was abducted from a breeding cage for sturgeon breeds.

Law enforcement officers studied the recordings from the surveillance cameras. According to the footage, it was found out that three young men entered the enterprise and went to the cage. One of them jumped into the water, fished out an individual sturgeon and carried it towards the exit.

During the operational search activities, three newcomers were detained: a resident of Ust-Kamenogorsk, born in 2000, and two residents of the village of Sukhobuzimskoye, born in 1998 and 2000.

The police found that the young people came to rest on the shore of the Krasnoyarsk Sea and lived in a tent. They only managed to bring the stolen fish to the camp. At the same time, employees of the fish farm arrived at the scene and demanded the immediate return of the stolen goods.

According to the KrasnoyarskMedia news agency, although the female sturgeon was returned to the owner, she died due to the time spent in unnatural conditions. The amount of damage caused to the farm was about 107 thousand rubles.

A criminal case was opened against the kidnappers under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Theft". Now the defendants are on their own recognizance not to leave and behave properly.
