The flood situation is expected to worsen in Transbaikalia

The complication of the flood situation on several rivers is expected in Transbaikalia. This was announced on Thursday, June 25, according to the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.

Thus, a dangerous flood is already forming on the Nercha River near Nerchinsk. The water level will continue to rise, flooding of the residential sector and infrastructure is possible.

The Shilka River near Sretensk is also expected to rise in the coming days. The water level may approach the level of an adverse event.

Also, on the Khilok River of the city of the same name, water is projected to reach the floodplain, writes ChitaMedia news agency.

Residents of coastal areas are advised to closely monitor the situation and take precautions.

According to forecasters, from June 27 to June 29, a new cyclone will arrive in the region, which will bring heavy rains. Up to 15 mm of precipitation will fall in the north and west of Transbaikalia.
