A summer vintage market has opened in Kolomenskoye

The Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve in Moscow has opened a Vintage market, an annual fair of objects from the Soviet and pre—Soviet era, organized by members of the Union of Collectors of Russia. Admission to the site is free, the market is open all summer on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as part of the "Summer in Moscow" project.

The organizers have prepared thematic exhibitions, master classes and lectures by leading collectors, as well as stylized retro photos. Vinyl records, porcelain and nickel silver tableware, antique coins, second—hand books of the XIX–XX centuries with autographs of the authors, Soviet-era clothing and household items are on sale.

A special section is devoted to space topics. Here you can buy postcards and envelopes with autographs of Yuri Gagarin and the first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, as well as get acquainted with the historical photo album from the Soyuz-4 and Soyuz-5 spacecraft.

At lectures dedicated to the Olympics-80, collectors will show how the artist Viktor Chizhikov came up with a Bear, the main mascot of the Games. Valery Arkhipov, President of the Russian Union of Collectors, keeps his own bear, one and a half meters tall, which he ordered for the fortieth anniversary of the Olympic Games in Sokolniki at the invitation of the Olympic Committee.

At the same time, Nikita Sharapa, a blogger and amateur radio personality, will hold master classes on the site: guests will hear the "warm" analog sound of gramophones and vinyl turntables. Radio engineer Ivan Stepin will give a gramophone accordion concert with gramophone recordings by Peter Leshchenko and Konstantin Sokolsky and will play Russian folk songs on the accordion. Retrophotograph enthusiasts will enjoy lectures by Alexander Kopelev, a member of the Union of Photographic Artists of Russia, on working with film and Soviet cameras "Zorky", "FED", "Kiev" and "Smena".
