A weak magnetic storm has begun on Earth

A G1-level magnetic storm has been recorded on Earth. This was announced on the morning of June 25 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS and the ISSF SB RAS.

"The geomagnetic event began around midnight with moderate disturbances and reached the level of a storm about 3 hours ago," the Telegram channel said.

It is specified that the event is caused by a rapid increase in the speed of the solar wind due to the influence of a coronal hole, the unusual shape of which is clearly visible in the images.

On June 16, the Laboratory of Astronomy at the IKI RAS reported that solar activity remained slightly elevated, but in the future it may decrease to almost zero values after the end of the activity of the only active group of spots.

Despite its small size, the activity has an increased Beta-Gamma class magnetic complexity, which temporarily supports the current level of solar activity.
