The United States may stop supplying gas to the European Union if the community does not implement reforms to mitigate methane emissions controls. This was announced on June 24 by the American Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.

"Without a significant reform of this rule, Europe will face serious difficulties, and this is completely unnecessary. We are not talking about escalation. Our energy will flow over. It's just going to spill over somewhere else," he told Bloomberg on the sidelines of a conference in New York.
