The Ministry of Education will prepare unified textbooks in all subjects
The Russian Ministry of Education continues to work on creating a unified line of school textbooks in all general education subjects. By the end of 2026, new editions in a number of subjects for senior and middle grades may be included in the federal list of textbooks. This was announced on June 25 by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.
According to the head of the department, unified textbooks will gradually cover all school subjects.
"Eventually, unified textbooks will appear in all general education subjects," Kravtsov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The minister clarified that by the end of 2026, the federal list is planned to include unified textbooks on the Russian language, literature, chemistry, physics and biology for students in grades 10-11, as well as on labor for students in grades 5-9.
Kravtsov noted that the Russian Academy of Sciences is involved in the development of textbooks in mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry and biology. The work is carried out within the framework of the government-approved plan to improve mathematical and natural science education.
The head of the Ministry of Education also recalled that the unified history textbook has already received positive feedback from the teaching community. In addition, the preparation of unified state textbooks on social studies has been completed.
On March 21, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation reported that the Federal Institute of Native Languages of the Peoples of Russia had begun developing a unified line of textbooks on the native and state languages of the republics. It is specified that, thanks to the unified federal programs, language learning will accompany schoolchildren from 1st to 11th grade, which will allow them to preserve the bond of generations and become more deeply involved in the culture of the peoples of Russia.
