In Venezuela, several residential buildings and structures collapsed as a result of a powerful earthquake. This was stated on June 24 by the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace of the country, Diosdado Cabello, on the air of the state television channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

"We have very disturbing situations. Buildings, houses and residential buildings collapsed," RIA Novosti quoted the minister as saying.
