The expert spoke about the optical effect with the eyes of the Far Eastern leopard

The true blue eye color is found only in very small leopard kittens, while in adults, the eye color is mostly gray-blue. Viktor Bardyuk, head of the Directorate of the Land of the Leopard Nature Reserves, told about this on June 25.

"There are no adult Far Eastern leopards with true blue eyes. They are rather gray-blue, the color depends on the environment. If the leopard's eyes appear bright blue or blue in photographs or videos from night-time forest automatic cameras, then this is an optical effect," Bardyuk said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
