The priest listed the church traditions of celebrating the Nativity of John the Baptist.

In the church tradition of the Nativity of John the Baptist, the main meaning of the holiday is associated with prayerful veneration and remembrance of the prophet's mission, while no special additional ritual prescriptions for believers on this day have been established. This was announced by the cleric of the church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious in Vidnom, Priest John Stepanchuk, in a conversation with Izvestia.

In church practice, this day is perceived primarily as an occasion for prayer and thanksgiving. According to him, believers traditionally try to attend divine services and pray to St. John the Baptist.

"On this day, believers try to visit the temple and pray to St. John the Baptist during the Divine Liturgy. There is no strict fasting on the day itself, as on the feast of the Beheading of John the Baptist, but the day is still a fast day, since Peter's Fast runs until July 12," he said.

As follows from the explanations of the cleric, there are no special dietary or statutory restrictions on the holiday itself, but its liturgical status remains within the framework of the multi-day Peter's fast, which determines the lenten nature of the day for believers.
