The Armenian opposition is unlikely to be able to get the results of the parliamentary elections reviewed by the Constitutional Court (CC). Political analyst Tigran Kocharyan stated this in an interview with Izvestia on June 25.

Opposition leaders have already been banned from leaving the country.

"The Constitutional Court is completely under the control of [Armenian Prime Minister Nikol] Pashinyan. Each judge is carefully selected, hardly anyone at such a crucial moment will decide to demonstrate disloyalty," he explained.

Therefore, the verdict, according to the expert, is clear in advance. Although the options are still possible.

"For example, the opposition can still gather people in the streets during the sessions of the Constitutional Court. If the actions are really large—scale, it will be more difficult for the judges and Pashinyan to insist on the legitimacy of the elections," the source said.

Earlier, the Constitutional Court of Armenia accepted proceedings on the statements of a number of alliances and parties: "Strong Armenia", "Wings of Unity", "Democracy, Law, Discipline", "Prosperous Armenia", "Union of Defenders of Democracy for the Republic", "Armenia" and "New Force". The opposition complains about numerous violations committed during the voting.

The trial will begin on June 26, with a verdict due two weeks later.

Parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on June 7. The ruling Civil Contract party received 49.7% of the vote, the Strong Armenia bloc - 23.2%, and the Armenia bloc - 9.9%. The other associations did not overcome the electoral barrier.
