The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and the Minister of Justice of Mauritania signed a memorandum

On June 24, Russian Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan and Mauritanian Minister of Justice Mohamed Ould Soueidatt signed a memorandum of understanding on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

"Despite the geographical remoteness of our states, we face common challenges in countering cross-border threats. These include terrorism, extremism, cybercrime, drug trafficking, weapons, money laundering, and others," Gutan stressed.

The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation noted that the meeting is a continuation of the political dialogue at the level of heads of state. He expressed confidence that the implementation of the memorandum would strengthen working ties and expand professional dialogue, as well as serve as a basis for cooperation in the scientific and educational field with the participation of the University of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia. Gutsan also said that the visit of the head of the Ministry of Justice of Mauritania will mark the beginning of long-term relations between the departments of the two countries.

On June 4, Gutsan signed a number of interdepartmental documents on cooperation with foreign colleagues from Uganda and Egypt, who arrived at his invitation to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Welcoming the Director of the Uganda Public Prosecution Service, Angusa Lino, Gutan stressed that Russia attaches great importance to the development of partnership relations with African states.

During a meeting with Egyptian Prosecutor General Mohamed Shawki Ayad, the Russian Prosecutor General noted that the legal protection of investments and business interests is an important task against the background of the development of economic relations between the countries, general trade turnover and the implementation of projects in the energy and industrial sectors.
