The Kommersant Publishing House announced the launch of the annual readers' vote for the Lev Yashin Prize, the main award for goalkeepers of Russian football, established by Ogonyok magazine in 1960. This season, 13 goalkeepers are competing for the title of the best goalkeeper, each of whom has played at least 20 matches per season and at least 16 games in the RPL as the main goalkeeper.

The voting will last until July 23, and the results will be summed up by the editorial board of Kommersant and football experts.

The current winner of the award, Krasnodar goalkeeper Stanislav Agkatsev, is once again among the candidates. Igor Akinfeev (CSKA), Alexander Maksimenko (Spartak), Anton Mitryushkin (Lokomotiv), Denis Adamov (Zenit) and others are also competing for the prize. The full list of nominees is available on the publication's website.

The prize has been awarded since 1960, after the victory of the USSR national team at the first European Championship. The first owner was Lev Yashin. Since 2009, the award has been presented by the Kommersant publishing house. The prize has been awarded 62 times in its history. The record holder is Igor Akinfeev with 11 wins.
