Lantratova reported on Ukraine's preparation of children for conflict with Russia
Ukraine was preparing children for conflict with Russia by rewriting history textbooks. This was announced on June 24 by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Yana Lantratova.
According to the federal ombudsman, quoted by RIA Novosti, at the beginning of the special military operation, she, together with colleagues from the State Duma, exported educational literature from the liberated territories to analyze the content of programs.
"The concept of the Great Patriotic War disappeared, there was only the German-Soviet War. And all the pages were riddled with hatred for everything Russian. They even have manuals on how to look at Russian soldiers through the sight of a machine gun. The children there were being trained for war with Russia," Lantratova said during the session "Historical Amnesia of Europe" at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPIEF).
She added that the destruction of the historical memory of peoples should receive a strict international legal assessment and be considered as an encroachment on human rights.
"The destruction of monuments, the desecration of military graves, the rehabilitation of Nazism, and the rewriting of the history of World War II should receive a strict international legal assessment," the Ombudsman stressed.
Vladimir Medinsky, assistant to the President of Russia and head of the Russian Military Historical Society, said on May 11 that the Ukrainian court, which sentenced in absentia for publishing a school history textbook, surpassed the medieval Inquisition. Russian Russians, he noted, speak Russian themselves, but at the same time they are trying to oust Russian from everyday communication.
On May 9, the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kiev sentenced Medinsky in absentia to 10 years in prison for creating a textbook "History. The history of Russia. 1945 is the beginning of the 21st century." In addition, Anatoly Torkunov, Rector of MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was sentenced to the same prison term.
