There have been 306 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 306 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 25 people were killed and 373 injured. 19 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on June 24 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry.

As a result of 79 accidents involving pedestrians, six people were killed, and 77 others were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured are 28 child pedestrians, 22 of them were injured when crossing the roadway in unintended places. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 18 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 61 outside their area of operation.

14 bus accidents were recorded, in which one person was killed, and another 16 road users, including one child, needed medical attention. Nine bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles. 70 accidents involving minors were registered, 77 young road users were injured, including 32 passengers and six motor transport drivers. Two children were killed: a motorcyclist and a passenger in a passenger car.

So, in the Republic of Mordovia, during the daytime, on 2 km of the regional highway Novotroitskoye — Novaya Alexandrovka, a 42-year-old car driver ran into a metal barrier fence, followed by an exit from the road and overturning the vehicle. His 11-year-old son, who was in the back seat in a booster seat and wearing a seat belt, died in the accident. The father of the deceased boy was hospitalized with injuries. According to the preliminary version, he suddenly lost consciousness while driving.

In one of the rural settlements of the Voronezh Region, in the evening, a 16-year-old schoolboy lost control of the sports motorcycle he was riding, drove off the road and crashed into a tree. The young motorcyclist was killed, and he did not use a helmet or protective gear. Previously, the accident occurred due to the deceased teenager's lack of driving skills. He had not previously been issued a driver's license, and he was traveling on a public road on a cross-country motorcycle in violation of traffic regulations.

The death rate in road accidents is planned to be reduced by one and a half times by 2030.

The State Traffic Inspectorate called on parents to strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own during the long summer holidays, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of accessing the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles, prohibiting driving cars and motor vehicles without the appropriate rights and skills.

For the transfer of the right to drive cars and motor vehicles to children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category, administrative liability is provided in the amount of 30 thousand rubles. Mopeds and motorcycles on public roads can be driven no earlier than the age of 16. Cross—country motorcycles and pitbikes should be used only on specialized tracks and only for sporting purposes for motorsport, including for young athletes, the ministry noted. It is strictly forbidden to use them on ordinary roads and in populated areas. Motorists were also reminded that the lives and health of their passengers depend on skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding driving behavior.

"Give up risky driving, avoid dangerous maneuvers and exceed the speed limit. Do not be distracted while driving, do not overestimate your strength and health, and never drive when you are tired or sick. Therefore, even on the shortest trip in terms of time and distance, always go well-rested, cheerful and healthy. We draw the attention of drivers to the strict observance of the rules for the safe transportation of children. Take care of your young passengers, preventing even the prerequisites for a possible tragedy," urged Police Colonel Sergei Hrantskevich, head of the Department for the Promotion of road safety and prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
