— On a full moon, the moon rises at sunset, is visible all night, and sets at sunrise. After the full moon, the waning of the lunar phases begins. The features of the June full moon are determined only by the position of the Moon in orbit. That is, there is nothing exceptional about the June full moon. We observe the full moon phase every month. It's just that this time it will be a little smaller," added the Moscow Planetarium specialist.
Where did the names "micro moon" and "miniloon" come from
As Lyudmila Koshman explained, the name "micromoon" originated by analogy with "supermoon", however, there are no such concepts in professional astronomy. According to her, the prefix "micro" is used by astronomers for a unit of measurement equal to one millionth, and has nothing to do with the Moon. Therefore, it would be more correct to say "mini moon".
— But the so—called "mini—moon" is just a term convenient for a mass audience, which describes a situation when a full moon occurs near its apogee - not far from the furthest point of its orbit from the Earth.
