The Russian Armed Forces destroyed the latest American MAAWLR air defense system in the Kharkiv region

Russian military personnel, using FPV drones, eliminated the latest MAAWLR (Mobile Anti-Air Weapons Launcher Reconfigurable) anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) produced in the United States in the Kharkiv region, which was used by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on June 24 in the official Telegram channel of the North group of forces.

"Northerners' scouts have uncovered an enemy anti-aircraft missile system in the Kharkiv region. The soldiers of the 11th AK GV "Sever" (11th Army Corps of the North group of forces) immediately worked on the target. — Ed.), which destroyed sams with FPV drone strikes. <...> The newest American MAAWLR anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed," the publication says.

It is specified that for the first time such a weapon was presented in September last year at the Air, Space & Cyber Conference military exhibition, held in the US state of Maryland. The development, as explained, can be placed both permanently and placed on pickups and trailers. The cost of a fully equipped air defense system can reach up to $ 6 million (about 447.720 million rubles).

Back in 2023, the creators of MAAWLR stated that they had transferred this complex for "testing in real combat conditions," to whom they did not specify, and then completely deleted this information from their official resources.

The UAV operator with the call sign Gang, talking about the fulfillment of this task, clarified that he and his colleagues were also amazed by the Urals and KAMAZ trucks belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
