Unidentified drone crashed and caught fire near a house in Turkey
In the Turkish province of Kastamonu, a drone crashed and caught fire near a house in the village of Kushkayasi. This was reported by the Milliyet newspaper on June 23.
"An unmanned aerial vehicle crashed in a hazelnut orchard near a house in the village of Kushkayasi in the Jide district," the publication says.
It is clarified that after the fall, the device caught fire, and its debris scattered around the neighborhood. A local resident heard a loud explosion and found the wreckage of a drone 10 m from the house. According to preliminary estimates, the weight of the device could exceed 200 kg.
Gendarmes arrived at the scene, who cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. The authorities are establishing the origin and ownership of the drone. Another fragment of a UAV, presumably a Ukrainian kamikaze drone, was found in Samsun province.
On June 19, an unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle was discovered in the Turkish province of Bartın on the Black Sea coast. During the initial inspection, the specialists were unable to determine the ownership of the device. The drone was seized and sent to Ankara for a detailed technical examination.
