- The Russian military told the details of the advance on the outskirts of Konstantinovka
Russian military personnel told Izvestia about the performance of combat missions on the outskirts of Konstantinovka and the specifics of advancing in urban development.
"This is the control point of the 1st Motorized Rifle Battalion of the 1194 regiment of the 4th Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces. All the information from the units that are currently working in Konstantinovka flows here in real time," said Izvestia correspondent Egor Kildibekov.
According to him, the monitors of the control center receive images from several reconnaissance drones at once. In addition, signalmen regularly receive reports from fighters, and commanders can adjust the actions of assault units in real time.
"We went deep into the city, we gained a foothold on the outskirts and, accordingly, it is much easier for our personnel to move around the city itself," said the deputy commander of the 1st battalion of the 1194 regiment of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign Yusa.
He noted that before performing tasks, military personnel were trained to operate in urban areas, since such work differs from fighting in small towns.
"The primary difficulties are, of course, the sky, UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles. — Ed.) of the opponent. We need to move stealthily and scatter their mines, that is, look carefully at our feet," said the commander of the 3rd company of the 1st battalion of the 1194 regiment of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign Beliar.
According to him, before advancing, the fighters studied the routes and the intensity of the use of drones by the enemy. The soldier also noted that the units used the paths previously laid by the scouts, and the enemy did not expect them to appear and did not actively resist contact.
The battalion commander of the 78th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign DZ said on June 22 that the southern side of the village of Konstantinovka in the DPR had come under the full control of Russian troops. He added that the main difficulties in advancing are related to the dense mining of territories. According to him, the enemy uses mines and tripwires of various types, setting up barriers, including in the rear of their own units, to stop their retreat.
